MASQUE/ERADE examines the mask as both a social instrument and a psychological necessity. Drawing from Jungian theories of the Persona, the exhibition explores how individuals construct identity through gesture, language, and visual codes—negotiating the tension between inner desire and social expectation. In this framework, the mask is not a falsehood but a deliberate interface: a tool for survival, for communication, and for selective revelation.
Like the masquerade balls from which the title draws inspiration, the exhibition invites us into a space of layered performance. Masks, both literal and symbolic, become vessels through which identity is not only concealed but performed, fragmented, and reassembled. Each smile rehearsed, each pose assumed, is a form of coded expression—a dance between truth and concealment.
The works reflect on how we move through the world wearing multitudes: an induced grin, a choreographed stance, or a carefully modulated tone. These gestures do not betray reality but shape it—articulating how we navigate systems of belief, power, and belonging.
Featuring new works by Frankie Blanco, Zeke Cancio, Don Go, Adoy Justiniani, and KR Rodgers, the show presents a range of strategies for engaging with visibility, control, and the fragile architecture of the self.
